SUBJECT:    CLOSURE OF CALL FOR PROPOSALS TO DEVELOP COALBED GAS IN THE CROWSNEST COAL FIELD

In December 2003, the Ministry of Energy Mines and Petroleum Resources (Ministry) invited interested parties to submit
proposals to develop deep, unconventional, frontier and other marginally economic oil and gas resources in
British Columbia.  This call included coalbed gas in the Crowsnest Coal Field.

 Effective immediately, the Ministry will not be accepting additional proposals for the Crowsnest Coalfield area.
