SUBJECT:     ISSUE DATES OF PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS TENURES ISSUED AT CROWN DISPOSITIONS

Tenures sold at Crown dispositions of petroleum and natural gas rights have historically been issued on the same day as the Crown disposition.  Effective March 4, 2004, the issue date of tenures acquired at a Crown disposition will be the day following the date of the Crown disposition.  This will ensure tenure holders have full beneficial use of tenure agreements for the entire term.
