2005 Premier's Award, B.C.'s public service's highest honours, March 29, 2006

The Mineral Titles Branch received the award in the Service Excellence category for Mineral Titles Online – a project of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources – revolutionized the way the mineral exploration industry does business in B.C. through the use of Internet technology, digital mapping and e-commerce. 2005 Public Sector Transformation Information Technology Award, for Excellence in Innovative Collaboration (REBOOT), October 6, 2005

The award was presented at the Annual Strategies for Public Sector Transformation 2005 conference in Victoria. MTO is an E-Commerce GIS Internet-based mineral titles administration system that allows the mineral exploration industry to acquire and maintain mineral titles by selecting an area on a seamless digital GIS map of British Columbia and pay the associated fees electronically.

The REBOOT Innovation Award is an annual event organized by the prestigious group Reboot Communications Ltd., well-known for its national and international initiatives in the field of information technology. The 7th Annual Information Technology Awards are part of the Strategies for Public Sector Transformation Conference. The Conference celebrates results achieved by the BC Provincial Government and the broader public sector in transforming services to the public through the application of technology.
GTEC-Gold Medal, October 4, 2005

The Mineral Titles Online System was awarded the GOLD medal under the "Innovative E-Government in the Provinces" banner at the 2005 GTEC Award in Ottawa - Developed by Pacific GeoTech Systems for the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines, the new mineral title registry system for BC incorporates the acquisition and maintenance of mineral and placer titles with e-commerce and on-line transmission of information.

Mineral Titles Online received the highest award to recognize the application’s outstanding achievements in developing and implementing innovative systems that have improved e-government operations and service delivery at the provincial level.
"We are absolutely thrilled that Mineral Titles Online is the recipient of the GTEC Gold medal", said Andy Lang, the President of the Pacific Geo Tech Systems Ltd. "The award acknowledges and celebrates all our recent efforts to develop an outstanding e-government permitting application that is universally accessible, secure, practical and that cuts red tape." "The Gold medal brings a three-fold recognition: of our leadership, innovation and excellence," he added.
Every year, the GTEC event brings together in a keen competition over 100 IT professionals who designed applications for the federal, provincial and municipal governments.
ESRI Canada-Award of Excellence, October 4, 2005

ESRI Canada presented the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Petroleum Resources, Titles Branch for the Mineral Titles Online System with an Award of Excellence at ESRI Regional user Conference in Victoria.

The award recognizes Mineral Titles Online for its capacity to innovatively and progressively integrate Internet mapping technology to the benefit of the industry, government and the public. Developed by Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd.(PGTS), the Mineral Titles Online application allows provincial authorities and interested parties to electronically manage all procedures related to the acquisition of mineral title in BC, ranging from initial registration to electronic payment.
"We are extremely honoured to have received this distinction from the world leader in GIS system technology," said Eugen Toaxen, CEO of Pacific GeoTech Systems. "We strive for innovation in GIS and hold such awards in high regard, as they embody our long-standing and ongoing commitment of excellence to our clients," he added.
Every year ESRI Canada presents Awards of Excellence to the most deserving Canadian organizations whose leading-edge applications open up new approaches in the GIS area.
Honourable Mention-Geospatial Solutions Magazine, August 1, 2005
Honorable Mention for Mineral Titles Online (MTO) - Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. was awarded the Honorable Mention for its application, Mineral Titles Online (MTO), developed for the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. The award was given by the Geospatial Solutions Magazine, an American publication on business and computer applications, with a circulation of around 30,000.
For six consecutive years, this magazine has been running an annual Applications Contest to select the most innovative and creative applications of geospatial technologies. The winners of this competition are picked up among the readers of the Geospatial Solutions Magazine who come up with their projects.
