February 24, 2014- Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), Mines and Mineral Resources Division (MMRD) is pursuing the introductions of fees for Mines Act permits. A discussion paper describing proposed fees, payment methods, and background rationale is available on our website:  http://www.empr.gov.bc.ca/Mining/Permitting-Reclamation/Pages/MinesActPermitFees.aspx

 

The comment period is open until March 31, 2014.

The Mineral Titles office administers the laws and manages the recording system pertaining to the acquisition and maintenance of mineral, placer and coal rights in the Province.  The Ministry maintains records and maps which indicate areas available for acquisition of title as well as the status of mineral and coal titles acquired under the Mineral Tenure Act and Coal Act.
