SUBJECT:     Besa Prophet Pre-Tenure Plan

Phase I of the Besa-Prophet Pre-Tenure Plan, shown outlined on the attached map, has recently been approved by the Minister of Sustainable Resource Management.  The Besa-Prophet Pre-Tenure Plan is within the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area (M-KMA), an area designated under the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act.  The legislation requires that a pre-tenure plan be completed before the Ministry of Energy and Mines can offer oil and gas rights for competition within the M-KMA.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines is now accepting posting requests within the Phase I area of the Besa-Prophet Pre-Tenure Plan for any of its regularly scheduled dispositions of oil and gas rights, commencing with the January 15, 2003 sale.  For disposition dates, refer to Information Letter EMD03-02 - 2003/2004 Petroleum and Natural Gas Rights Disposition Dates.
