The BC Energy Plan: A Vision for Clean Energy Leadership is taking the first step to incorporating transportation issues into provincial energy policy. The transportation sector is vital to the health of British Columbia, moving goods and people throughout the province and around the world, contributing to our economic success. However, that movement impacts the air we breathe, our environment and worldwide issues such as climate change.
The Province is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector by investing in new technology requiring renewable fuels, raising public awareness and offering a range of energy options for British Columbians. By working with businesses, educational institutions, non-profit organizations and other governments, British Columbia is moving forward on new and exciting transportation technologies. The focus will be on research and development, marketing strategies and demonstration projects to further promote our innovative technologies to the world.
