Natural Gas Study

This presentation on the British Columbia Natural Gas Industry Competitiveness Study was presented to industry stakeholders in Calgary on September 22 and 23, 1999.

The British Columbia Natural Gas Industry Competitiveness Study, compares the cost competitiveness of natural gas exploration, development, production, gathering and processing in BC to the costs of the same processes in Alberta.  It explains the data, methodology and results of these comparisons, and provides the information on BC supply and demand, reserves and resource potential. Conclusions on cost differences and suggestions for improvements to BC cost competitiveness issues are presented.

The BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources considers this analysis to be ongoing.  We invite comments, suggestions and submissions of further relevant data in order to continue to make improvements to the competitiveness of British Columbia's natural gas industry.
