Economic Impact of Oil and Gas Industry in British Columbia
The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources commissioned a study - undertaken by the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) and the Centre for Spatial Economics (C4SE) - to provide the following information on the upstream oil and gas industry in British Columbia:
- Identify expenditure patterns of the oil and gas industry by types of expenditures and where they are made
- Identify the significance of the oil and gas industry to both the Northeast and provincial economies;
- Create economic models to assess future impact of the oil and gas industry price, fiscal and production scenarios
