The lands included in the Redstone Project are Petroleum and Natural Gas Permits No. 1181 to 1188 inclusive which form a block 645,751 acres in area. These Class B Permits were issued to Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company Limited on July 31, 1959 by the British Columbia Department of Mines. The project is named from Redstone P.O., situated on the Williams Lake-Bella Coola road, about one hundred miles from Williams Lake. Redstone, in Permit No. 1184 near the confluence of the Chilanko and Chilcotin Rivers, is sixty-six air miles due west of Williams Lake. Outlines of the Permits are shown on the accompanying maps. Petroleum and Natural Gas rights on Indian Reservations are excluded from the Permits.
