The South Big Creek area gravity survey was one of several conducted between 1979 and 1981 in conjunction with Canadian Hunter’s oil and gas exploration program in the Nechako basin region. The South Big Creek survey was conducted October 24 to November 9, 1981, and totaled 110 line kilometres along three lines. This survey was appended to, and tied in, with the southernmost end of the Chezacut Survey (Report 2393), and covers the area which is now the northern half of Big Creek Provincial Park.
