The Chezacut – Chilanko Forks – Chilko River area gravity survey was one of several conducted between 1979 and 1981 in conjunction with Canadian Hunter’s oil and gas exploration program in the Nechako basin region. The Chezacut – Chilanko Forks – Chilko River survey was conducted July 23 to October 9, 1980 and February 4 to June 3, 1981. It totaled 1100 line kilometres along twelve lines. The survey lines ran northeast, approximately parallel to Highway 20 between Riske Creek and Tatla Lake, as far north as Maxwell Creek, and as far south as the north end of Big Creek Provincial Park.
