Oil and gas development is booming in British Columbia, and this growth is expected to continue for many years to come. British Columbia, and the territories to the north, are the future frontier for oil and gas exploration.

A 1999 study showed that 4,200 people were directly employed in British Columbia’s upstream oil and gas industry. The number of jobs available in oil and gas exploration, production, development and related activities will continue to grow.
