CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Interior Basins Geophysical Survey Project

November 14, 2003 – Oil and Gas Division, Oil and Gas Emerging Opportunities & Geosciences Branch

The British Columbia Ministry of Energy and Mines is interested in soliciting proposals for conducting geophysical survey projects in Bowser/Sustut and Nechako basins. The purpose of this solicitation is to identify a possible industry partner with expertise in oil and gas related geophysical surveys and that could manage a project once adequate ministry and industry resources become available.

The project will most likely involve a Public Private Partnership with interested investors, and could potentially include First Nation communities.

Acquisition of seismic data is the primary objective, but other technologies could be utilized so as to minimize environmental impacts and properly evaluate the geology of these basins (i.e. high resolution airborne gravity and magnetometer).

The project concepts will be evaluated and ranked to ensure the identification of the most qualified proposal and to ensure adequate ministry resources are in place to support the project.

Please refer to "Call For Proposals" ( 34KB) for solicitation details, application procedure and deadline information.
