The Oil and Gas Division is leading the way towards stimulating investment in the province's traditional oil and gas resources as well as in new, untapped areas of potential like coalbed gas and shale gas.
The Oil and Gas Division area of the MEMPR website provides an overview of oil and gas in BC; oil and gas production/distribution statistics; data about resource potential; and information on the ministry's oil and gas initiatives and policies.
