Career History:
Pat has worked with the Geological Survey Branch for 23 years. He started in 1986 mapping the geology of the Babine and Telkwa ranges around Smithers B.C. In the 1990’s Pat worked on the mineral potential project for land use, compiling geoscience data for the province into useable formats for land use decision making by both industry and government. During this process he developed extensive skills in Geographic Information Systems and database management. Currently Pat is extensively involved in data enhancement; pulling additional information from existing data to produce new, more meaningful data sets which are then posted for public use. He also provides technical support for Mapplace, an online tool allowing the general public the ability to generate area specific maps showing different layers of geoscience data.

Rowing has recently become a passion of Pat's. He is currently ranked 4th in the world for his class of indoor rowing. He will be competing in the World indoor rowing competition in Sydney Australia in Oct 2009. Way to go Pat! In the meanwhile, Pat spends his free time training and competing in local events that take him all over Canada and the United States.
