Diploma in Public Administration from Camosun College
Career History:
Laura started working for the Mineral Titles Division in 1980. After four years she joined the British Columbia Geological Survey as a secretary for the Resource Information Section. While working at the BCGS she attended Camosun College and earned her Diploma in Public Administration. Laura played an important role in the computerization of the MINFILE and ARIS Systems. Over time and as systems have become more automated, Laura’s position has evolved to become primarily database management.
Work Profile:
Laura’s primary focus is database administration, maintaining the BCGS website and computer systems and project management. She is also a member of the BCGS Website Steering committee. Recently, Laura was recognized for her ongoing and significant contributions to the BC Geological Survey.

Laura was a key player in the MINFILE re-write; BCGS Website Conversion to the new Content Management System (CMS), and this spring coordinated the BCGS computer U2 refresh
Interests:
Laura is a busy soccer Mom with two teen-aged sons involved in the sport. Somehow, she also finds time to make it to the gym for step-aerobics. When she is not busy with friends and family, Laura can be found relaxing at her lakeside cottage. |
