Deanna is primarily focused on coordinating regional compilations of geological maps and data integration of BC Digital Geology database. She provides data quality assurance of digital geology, GIS support, 3D modelling and production of thematic geological maps.

Before joining the BCGS in 2013, Deanna worked as a geologist in the mining and mineral exploration industry with eleven years of experience. Specializing in geological modelling and GIS applications, Deanna has contributed to the evaluation of projects ranging from early stage exploration to established mines, including development of 3D geology models to guide exploration and mining as well as NI 43-101 reporting. Deanna has exploration experience in multiple commodities and has been based out of Canada and South Africa working on projects in Canada (Nunavut) and Africa (Sierra Leone & Botswana). Her work has included core logging, sampling, drill program supervision, technical report writing, GIS support and providing 3D modelling training.
At the BCGS, Deanna is responsible for the maintenance, quality assurance and delivery of province-wide geological maps. She integrates the on-going regional mapping studies into the geological and geospatial databases to update the BC Digital Geology database. Deanna runs 3D geological modelling projects using GOCAD software. As well, she provides support to clients and assists with MapPlace training.
