Area of Expertise:

 

Coal, Rocky Mountain Foreland geology.  M.Sc thesis: Sedimentology of the Clifton Formation of Northern New Brunswick: A Semi-arid Depositional Setting for Coal.

 

Current Focus:

 

Compilation of foothills (CBM and coal) geology in Peace River District.

 

Past Projects:

 

Mapping in Peace River coalfield and northern Rockies (with GSC).  Assisted in Northern Kechika Trough project (sedex).  Compilation mapping in area of Sustut copper deposit. Sub-basin recognition in Aldridge Fm. (Sullivan target).  Howell Creek structure in southeast BC.  Geologic Reconnaissance of Wokkpash park proposal area.

 

Associated Expertise:

 

District Geology: assistance to public and prospectors in a district office (1982-1990). Varied field experience with industry and government surveys (Ontario, Manitoba, Baffin Island, Territories, Saskatchewan, Alaska) prior to joining BC Survey in 1982. Cross-cultural experience as overseas volunteer in mid 1970s.
