Submitting Information on Mineral Properties Available in BC
The interactive Mineral Properties Available in British Columbia Form identifies the property, its location and the contact information for the owner. Submitters enter data in the fields and tab from field to field. Some of the fields can be entered by choosing from drop down boxes. Some fields requested will assist the Ministry in sorting into common groupings e.g. porphyry targets, precious metals, or past producers etc. The comment field is intended only to assist communication and will not be published.
Once the submit button is clicked the information will be sent to our database where a sequential Property ID number, a special Property Key Code and a date submitted are generated. The system will then send a confirmation page back to the submitter by email displaying the Property ID number and the Property Key Code. The submitter will be asked to print off the confirmation page and retain for future use. The Property Key Code will be the owner's password for security. In future if amendments or deletions are requested the submitter will need both the Property ID and the Property Key Code to be able to submit revisions to the database.
Note: Java Scripting must be enabled to submit the form. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options; select Security tab, Custom Level and Enable Scripting near the bottom of the Security Settings.
After the initial submission form is received, Ministry Staff will review the submission and select to approve, reject or revise the submission before the information is posted to the main database.
Previous submissions were published as Open File 2006-10, January 2006; May 2005 (no hardcopy published); Information Circular 2005-2, January 2005; and Information Circular 2004-7, May 2004. Additional approved submissions will be displayed on the MapPlace map and the report, which is connected to the map. These submissions, will be considered for the next edition of the hardcopy map.
