Digital MINFILE Database

The MINFILE database is available online as of December 2006.  The MINFILE database contains information on more than 14,400 metallic, industrial mineral and coal occurrences in the province of British Columbia. The database includes both the formally released and the unreleased areas. Unreleased areas contain incomplete, unedited, and sometimes inaccurate data. Refer to the index map for the released areas or publications listing.

 

The search results from the MINFILE database can be download by the following categories: 

 

MINFILE numbers - list of MINFILE Numbers

 

Mineral Occurrence data - selected fields from the MINFILE database - MINFILE Number, Name, Status, Latitude/Longitude, UTM, Elevation, Commodities, Deposit Type, Tectonic Belt, Terrane, NTS Map, Production, Reserves, Region, and Datum Reference for each MINFILE occurrence in the search.

 

Production data - selected fields from the MINFILE database - MINFILE Number, Name, Tonnes Mined, Tonnes Milled, Commodities, First Year, Last Year.

 

Inventory data - selected fields from the MINFILE database - MINFILE Number, Name, Ore Zone, Year, Category, Calculation, Tonnes, Commodities, Comments, References.
