The following VIEW files are temporary dBASE files that are used when MINFILE Master Reports are generated. These 7 flat-files bring together all the related files in the database. Collectively, they temporarily store the complete database, except for capsule geology (C08), bibliography (C09) and production (R18a, R18b, C10) data.

To capture the database in these files follow this procedure:

1.  Isolate your data set through searches.
2.  Generate a MINFILE Master Report to screen.
3.  Press <escape> and stay in the Report Menu screen.
4.  Press F9 to go to DOS.
5.  Type: COPY C:\MINFILE\DATA\V*.* C:\MINFILE\VIEW (this directory should already be set up and should not be the     directory in which you started MINFILE, i.e. a neutral directory).
6.  Type: EXIT to return to MINFILE and leave the program in the normal way.

 

The dBASE files with data will now be isolated in a directory for custom reports or further processing with database management software, such as dBASE or Excel. The files VIEW4010.DBF to VIEW4070.DBF are used for MINFILE data. The files VIEW5000.DBF and VIEW5010.DBF are used for Exploration data. They are also PROJECT1.DBF and PROJECT2.DBF, which are defined in Appendix L3.
