The Toodoggone River (NTS 94E) reconnaissance-scale stream sediment and water survey was completed in 1996 and the resulting field and analytical data were released in 1997. A total of 963 sediment and 961 water samples were collected from 909 sample sites, at an average sample density of 1 site every 11 square kilometres. Stream sediment samples were analyzed for precious and base metals, pathfinder elements and rare earths. Water samples were analyzed for pH, fluoride, uranium and sulphate.
This region is well known for its geologic and metallogenic diversity and is considered to have high potential for additional discoveries of gold-copper porphyry, gold-silver epithermal, skarn, vein and basaltic copper mineral deposits.
