NTS 93J - McLeod Lake / RGS 15 / GSC OF 1216

The McLeod Lake (NTS 93J) reconnaissance-scale stream sediment and water survey was completed in 1985  and the resulting field and analytical data were released in 1986. A total of 1152 sediment and 940 water samples were collected from 1088 sample sites.

Geofile 2006-9 reports new gold and trace metal data from the re-analysis of the McLeod Lake (NTS 93J) map sheet. This digital release consists of a report in PDF format, and appendices in a ZIP format file.

Acknowledgements

The 1985 reconnaissance survey was undertaken by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (MEMPR) in conjunction with the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) under a "Letter of Understanding" for a cooperative project.

E.H.W. Hornbrook and P.W.B. Friske directed and coordinated GSC activities. W.M. Johnson directed the MEMPR activities. Contracts were let to the following companies for sample collection, preparation and analysis and were managed by staff of the GSC and MEMPR.

The 2006 re-analysis was done in cooperation from the Dr. Peter Fiske, Head of the Applied Geochmistry Unit, Geological Survey of Canada, Ottawa.  Stephen Day, Martin McCurdy and Rick McNeil of the Unit are especially thanked for helping to retrieve the archived sediment samples and inserting quality control standards.
