During the 2005 field season, Geoscience BC funded two reconnaissance-scale drainage sediment and water surveys in central British Columbia. The Anahim Lake and Nechako River (NTS 093C & F) resulting field and analytical data were released July 7, 2006. A total of 106 sediment and 1962 water samples were collected from 1957 sample sites. This includes 489 samples from a lake survey conducted in 1993 (Open File 1994-19).
Geoscience BC Report 2006-4 / Geofile 2006-11 includes results of the surveys. The data has been provided in a variety of digital formats. PDF files include survey descriptions and details regarding methods, field and analytical data listings, summary statistics, sample location map, geology map and maps for individual metals. Raw digital data files used in the production process are included in XLS and DBF formats and basemap coverages as Arc SHP files.
Stream sediment analyses, from several regional geochemical surveys (093D,C,E), carried out by the BC Geological Survey in the Bella Coola area have been compiled into Geofile 2006-10 for convenience and to accompany recent geological map product releases from the Geological Survey of Canada and the BC Geological Survey. |
