Reclamation and Prospecting (RAP) Program

The Reclamation and Prospecting (RAP) Program is now complete. Over two years (2007 and 2008), nearly 100 First Nations students participated in this unique training opportunity, which included field education in bush safety, basic prospecting and environmental evaluation.

RAP was delivered as a pilot project by Northwest Community College's School of Exploration and Mining in partnership with Smithers Exploration Group, the Province of British Columbia (the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development and the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands) and Human Resources and Social Development Canada. A comprehensive third-party evaluation of RAP will be made available in early 2010.
