NTS 92N - Mount Waddington

/ RGS 24 / GBC 2007-6

The Mount Waddington (NTS 92N) reconnaissance-scale stream sediment and water survey was completed in 1991 and the resulting field and analytical data were released in 1992. A total of 868 sediment and 855 water samples were collected from 820 sample sites.

Geoscience BC Report 2007-6 reports new lake sediment and water data covering over 16,000 square kilometers of previously un-surveyed ground in central BC, and represents a significant addition to the provincial geochemical database.

The 1991 survey was managed and funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (MEMPR) as part of the Regional Geochemical Survey Program.

P.F. Matysek and W. Jackaman coordinated the operational activities of contract and MEMPR staff. W. Jackaman monitored the field program and coordinated the production of the Open File. S.J. Cook provided analysis and interpretation of the data. K.J. Colbourne provided production support.

Contracts were let to the following companies for sample collection, preparation and analysis.

COLLECTION:  McElhanney Engineering Services Ltd., Vancouver, B.C.
PREPARATION:  Rossbacher Laboratories Ltd., Burnaby, B.C.
ANALYSIS: Barringer Laboratories, Calgary, Alta. (sediments, waters)
Activation Laboratories Ltd., Ancaster, Ont. (sediments)
