The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources has a mandate to ensure the environmentally and socially responsible development of the British Columbia’s energy, minerals and petroleum resources.

The ministry’s goals include:

• Stimulating mineral exploration.
• Encouraging oil and gas exploration in under-explored basins. 
• Encouraging expansion of B.C.’s clean energy sources including independent power production and alternative energy industries.

The Marketing Branch supports these goals by providing key information - in numerous languages – that current and prospective investors need in order to make investment decisions.
