Marketing and Community Relations Branch

The Marketing and Community Relations Branch of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources is part of the Marketing, Aboriginal & Community Relations Division.

The marketing section is responsible for:

• Stimulating mineral exploration;
• Encouraging oil and gas exploration;
• Encouraging expansion of B.C.’s clean energy sources including independent power production and alternative energy industries;
• Encouraging investment in mines and minerals, oil and gas, and energy and alternative energy opportunities;
• Providing key information - in numerous languages – that current and prospective investors need in order to make investment decisions; and
• Providing support and information to governmental agencies and industry associations on marketing and investment activities.
