Corporate Policy, Planning and Legislation Branch
The Corporate Policy, Planning and Legislation Branch is responsible for the ministry's policy and planning initiatives to address issues which cut across other ministry divisions, are undertaken in collaboration with other B.C. government ministries and/or are in relation to other governments.
The branch leads and coordinates the ministry's work on:
- Legislation, regulations and policies;
- Corporate and cross-government initiatives, such as regulatory reform;
- Strategic planning and reporting, including the Ministry Service Plan and Annual Report; and
- Intergovernmental relations and issues, including the ministry's participation in the annual Union of BC Municipalities Convention, the international Pacific Northwest Economic Region and federal/provincial/territorial forums such as the annual Energy and Mines Ministers Conference.
The branch is also responsible for the administration of the Mediation and Arbitration Board.
