Government will establish an Industrial Energy Efficiency Program for British Columbia to address challenges and issues faced by the B.C. industrial sector and support the Canada-wide industrial energy efficiency initiatives.
The program will:
- encourage industry driven investments in energy efficient technologies and processes;
- reduce emission and greenhouse gases;
- promote self-generation of power; and
- reduce funding barriers that discourage energy efficiency in the industrial sector.

Supporting the Development of an Energy Efficiency Agreement
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the Climate Action Secretariat, and the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources are seeking to complete an Energy Efficiency Agreement that will demonstrate leadership and a collaborative approach for the parties to achieve energy efficiency, primarily through fuel gas efficiency, in B.C.'s oil and gas industry. The Mining Association of BC, BC Hydro and the Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources are seeking to complete an Energy Conservation Agreement thast will demonstrate leadership and a collaborative approach for the parties to achieve significant energy conservation in the mining sector.
